No Parent Left Behind: How Homeschooling Wins Every Time

A long time ago, in a neighborhood far, far away, kids who got homeschooled did not have the best reputation. They were socially awkward, smelled funny, and made us feel stupid. Homeschooled students have traditionally excelled on standardized tests, though they carried a stigma of being, well, weird. Over the last decade, this stigma has been beaten back, in large part because the failures of our public schools have entered the spotlight. From the outside looking in, homeschooled students don’t seem so bad as they once did. In fact, we’re beginning to think the school system they’re in trumps our own. From their perspective, the only thing that’s changed is public opinion. Or, as one of these parent-taught brainiacs would probably say, “Plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose.”
